Start your healthcare career as an Emergency Medical Technician with our EMT program.  The EMT is a front-line, entry-level healthcare provider.  As an EMT, you may work in a variety of environments:  transporting patients between facilities, responding to emergency calls, in a hospital emergency department, and elsewhere a first-response capability is required.  EMT certification and work experience are required for those seeking Paramedic training, and many doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers started their careers as EMTs.

We have several different course options:

On-Campus: Lectures and lab skills are completed on-campus

Hybrid: Online assignments, lectures, and activities are accompanied by on campus lab skills.

Self-Pace: You pick your pace to complete your assignments while participating in lab skills during a lab skill week.

Upon successfully completing our EMT program, you will be eligible to take the national certifying exam (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-NREMT) and become licensed as an EMT in Louisiana.
